Its a pretty pathetic amount of snow. Hardly worth making a couple of snowballs out of. Just enough to dust the ground. Well, this little amount of snow delayed school today for two hours. It is a rare occurance when snow makes its flakey appearance here in El Paso and it tends to send everyone here into a panic. Adam got several calls from his employees asking if they should close early because of ALL the snow. Its a little ridiculous. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_JAuVuP68F4A/SxWK3i7uH7I/AAAAAAAAAYM/Bc-xTqtq1qA/s400/snow+storm+2009+001.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5410383214230249394" />Campbell asked this morning if after school she could come home and play in the snow. There is no way this measly amount of snow would be waiting for her after school. So, yes, at 7:00 in the morning, we dressed the kids up and let them go out in the snow to play. It may be a once in a lifetime experience here in El Paso! <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_JAuVuP68F4A/SxWLKkGGgkI/AAAAAAAAAYU/be8TbTS5iXM/s400/snow+storm+2009+004.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5410383540959740482" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_JAuVuP68F4A/SxWLsB48eqI/AAAAAAAAAYc/jHFrKL7-OTU/s400/snow+storm+2009+014.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5410384115893303970" />
Our selection of winter clothes is pretty slim because it would be such a waste to buy new winter accessories every year. This hat that Campbell is wearing for instance, happens to be a 12-18 month old hat. It's a little snug, but it worked! Do you think she is wearing boots? You would be wrong if you said yes. She's got soccer cleats on! <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_JAuVuP68F4A/SxWNEcSpuXI/AAAAAAAAAYk/HSxBSmz8Q9o/s400/snow+storm+2009+005.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5410385634808936818" />Poor Max is wearing Campbell's old snow suit from when we lived in Utah. Max is one! And to celebrate this exciting time, he learned to walk about 4 days later. I don't know if it is typical boy behavior or what, but this kid is all over the place and into everything all the time! We can hardly keep up. He has learned a new trick recently. He can fetch his own shoes! To the response, "Max, let's go bye bye" he will go get his shoes (usually not the same two) and bring them to you to put on. Not bad, eh?
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_JAuVuP68F4A/SwcAwFm2LEI/AAAAAAAAAX0/gJQ1ZhLkgpQ/s400/october+2009+247.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5406290703820401730" />
This picture pretty much sums it up. We stayed in Yuma for the night and then attended the BYU football game at SDSU. A trip to California is no good unless you eat at IN-N-OUT and I guess all the BYU fans were on the same wave length. The place was crowded with "Y" fans and the poor SDSU cheerleaders that were there for lunch were a little overwhelmed. The game was pretty good and we had really good seats. Campbell was quite the cheerleader. She yelled and cheered like a true BYU fan!

The next day we went to the beach with Adam's sister and brother and their families. The water was a little cold, but not too cold to get in! Max loved chasing the birds on the beach and would get so excited when a bird was within crawling distance. Campbell got knocked over by a wave and thought it was a near death experience. The water was less than 6 inches deep, but she gets a little dramatic at times as all 5 year old girls do.

We spent 5 days at Disneyland and California Adventure. Grandma and Grandpa King, Adam's sister and brother and their families and my sister Leslie and her family came with us. It was so much fun! Campbell was very adventurous and tried all the rides that she was tall enough to ride on. Her favorites were "Its a Small World" and "Soaring over California". She kept talking about what a large litter we had, and that they were all a bunch of mutts. Campbell was unsure how to deal with her at first, but she saw her cousins laughing, and realized it was okay.

I can't wait until we can go again, hopefully next year.

Attack of the Blueberries!!!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_JAuVuP68F4A/Sr5bvsmhAqI/AAAAAAAAAXc/qZ_2zy1rASE/s400/soccer+game+006.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5385843079366378146" />
Campbell and her soccer team, the Blueberries, had their first soccer game today. Her team looked great in their blue shirts and they looked ready to take on the black team, the Champions. Well, let's just say that with a name like that, either you are no good at all, or you really are the Champions. The Champions creamed us into a blueberry parfait this morning. The stats: score: 2-8, Blueberries goals were scored by Hunter (who was the only one on our team who has ever played soccer before),and Campbell played goalie for the first eight minutes.
Campbell overall did a great job on her first game of playing soccer. I am going to have to practice a little with her so she is not so intimidated when chasing the ball. I think she had a lot of fun though. She said in the car on the way home, "Mom, I could totally hear you cheering me on. I must have done a really good job!"<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_JAuVuP68F4A/Sr5a3t758eI/AAAAAAAAAXM/QQvrqR6rU78/s400/soccer+game+003.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5385842117651853794" /> "Ra, Ra, Ra Blueberries!"<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_JAuVuP68F4A/Sr5cH6NARbI/AAAAAAAAAXk/pBjv_o9L3h8/s400/soccer+game+004.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5385843495334331826" />
Getting ready to start...<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_JAuVuP68F4A/Sr5bYIp2DxI/AAAAAAAAAXU/0cWncNmxCXE/s400/soccer+game+001.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5385842674579672850" /> Getting ready to throw the ball into play...

Laundry, crawling and behavior....

Why is it that kids seem to have the most fun playing with things that are not meant to be toys? Every time I do laundry, the kids are always taking off with the laundry basket. It sometimes is used as a cage, a bed or part of a fort. This time, the kids decided to use it as a train. I was assigned the conductor and spent a good hour pushing the kids around the house yelling, "All aboard!" Luckily Campbell had a whistle so there was no "tooting" going on. Since then, we have not had a minute's rest (except for the occasional nap). Max really should be the poster child for child proof devices. He is putting pens into light sockets (He found the only one without a plug protector), playing in the toilet water, tipping over bookshelves, slamming fingers in drawers, falling down the stairs, and standing on the treadmill trying to turn it on. Campbell was never this curious and would always listen to "no". Max on the other hand, thinks it is hilarious when I say "no" or his selective hearing kicks in when he is in danger. Max also does the funniest thing when he is eating. He tends to stuff his mouth full of food and forgets to chew. Needless to say he tends to choke a lot and causes a lot of drama for me when eating. Here is his way of solving the choking problem... Its funny but does not solve the problem.<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/get_player" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"width="320" height="266" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"flashvars="flvurl=http://v7.nonxt4.googlevideo.com/videoplayback?id%3D2da78c6bc406f673%26itag%3D5%26app%3Dblogger%26ip%3D0.0.0.0%26ipbits%3D0%26expire%3D1331633916%26sparams%3Did,itag,ip,ipbits,expire%26signature%3D3692B129B3BB7F84F24BA71C70F32C6FFB8A2217.291FC7EEFE0EAF8918DC4A521C251361A9ECD47E%26key%3Dck1&iurl=http://video.google.com/ThumbnailServer2?app%3Dblogger%26contentid%3D2da78c6bc406f673%26offsetms%3D5000%26itag%3Dw160%26sigh%3DO-8mmYFV9Fxnd2fr9fyJ9SKveNA&autoplay=0&ps=blogger"allowFullScreen="true" />
Campbell has started dance again and she is going to try soccer this year. She is enjoying school and is having a good time. Behavior is such a huge thing for her at school. She is almost obsessed with getting a "green light" everyday. So far she has, but I dread the day if she does something wrong and gets a yellow or red light. She will probably have a breakdown. She comes home from school everyday and tells me who in the class got a yellow or a red light. She's like the behavior police! I guess Adam had a similar problem when he was in school too.<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_JAuVuP68F4A/SrAiuk0OUFI/AAAAAAAAAW0/6ZCwRzdWJWU/s400/Spet+2009+pictures+007.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5381839738259787858" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_JAuVuP68F4A/SrAi8ZHD4wI/AAAAAAAAAW8/xlKMIrqOU5Q/s400/Spet+2009+pictures+006.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5381839975635739394" /> What a good girl! We have had several complications this summer that has made life a little difficult for the King family. One of these complications was that Adam injured himself in the most old man fashion possible: he was getting up off of the floor and tore his lateral meniscus. Here's the scoop--he was playing volleyball and just happened to make a fabulous play. As the ball was being returned from the opposing team, he tried to get up quickly from the floor and heard a loud series of "pops." That's all there is to it and he has been on crutches ever since. He had to have surgery and has to have a personal assistant (Me) who has to assist him with just about everything. I know, he is getting a sweet deal, and all he had to do was get a little surgery! So now you know what to do if you want someone to wait on you hand and foot- tear your lateral meniscus and get a little surgery.

A Very Busy May

This month has been so busy for Campbell. Campbell had her Mother's Day program at school. For months she has been practicing the Pledge of Allegiance, the Texas Pledge, and a variety of songs and actions to go along with them. She did so good! I was so proud of her. She led the class in the Texas Pledge, the song, "Ollie the Octopus" and was "A" You're Adorable. Good job Campbell! He sure knows who is to blame at our house!!!
One thing about Max that really cracks me up is that he hates the song, "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." He is becoming a little less sad when Campbell sings it to him because she sings it all the time to make him cry. It all started with the new season of "American Idol." So many contestants sing that song and every time Max would hear it he would start to cry. Max also gets the pouty lip just like Campbell did. Its like a warning sign- the tears will come soon if you don't stop it! Happy half birthday, Max! We love you!

Campbell turns five! Doesn't every mother say that? But really time has gone by too quickly. Here are some pictures we would like to share with you of her birthday party and all the fun we had on her special day.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_JAuVuP68F4A/Sdl2tFGx1RI/AAAAAAAAASk/0LqMQD5Lxxc/s400/campbell%27s+5th+birthday+004.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5321414951551751442" /> Max gave Campbell Mulan! Although she has her own play kitchen set, she prefers the real stuff. Saturday, she was playing "kitchen" and she came running in the room with a big pot on her head saying in her proud voice, "Look Mom and Dad, I'm a POT HEAD!" She thought she was so clever in coming up with this silly idea. We were laughing so hard, because of course, she doesn't know what this name implies. So yes, we are the proud parents of a "POT HEAD!"
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_JAuVuP68F4A/SYcw4nfLz7I/AAAAAAAAARU/afljCGbwZQ0/s400/pot+head+001.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298257235855265714" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_JAuVuP68F4A/SYcxL-cFNUI/AAAAAAAAARc/vyd5TxhC28g/s400/pot+head+002.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298257568433780034" />

Goodbye hair, hello ghosties!

Ever since Campbell has been able to talk, she has always wanted long hair. She would tell us, "I want long hair like Reepunzel(Reepunzel, not Rapunzel)." We have been growing it out since the beginning of time for her, only getting trims to make combing easier. So I was shocked when she starting asking about a month ago to cut her hair off. I kept telling her that it won't grow back very fast and that it may take a few years for it to get long again. No amount of convincing was going to change her mind. I kind of had mixed feelings about getting it cut. Even though it is a pain to do sometimes I still think she has beautiful hair. So, with her mind made up, we went to get it cut. The first snip comes, and I am feeling sick to my stomach to see 5 inches of hair fall to the floor. When I recovered from my episode, I was pleasantly surprised at how cute it looks. Take a look for
yourself...
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_JAuVuP68F4A/SYDUey83uqI/AAAAAAAAAQs/soOm7UZ3mMY/s400/campbells+haircut+001.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5296466787325950626" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_JAuVuP68F4A/SYDUyW-_quI/AAAAAAAAAQ0/O-zQzxxo5vw/s400/campbells+haircut+003.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5296467123416050402" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_JAuVuP68F4A/SYDVF6DV-HI/AAAAAAAAAQ8/l4b-Zr9IBYw/s400/campbells+haircut+002.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5296467459247044722" />
While we were taking pictures of Campbell's hair, a strange phenomenon happened...I don't know about you, but we think it must be a sixth sense. Grandma and Grandpa King and my sister Leslie came for the event. We had a lot of fun. We went to Cattleman's Steakhouse in Fabens, Texas. It was pretty yummy. They have this cool preserve of animals. There were peacocks, deer, horses, bison, rattlesnakes and lots of other cool animals. While we were eating, coyotes came up to the window and ate food that was put out for them. Campbell was pretty impressed that they came to the window without using a coyote call. I think she has been calling in coyotes with Adam a little too much...

Adam did a great job blessing Max. I can't believe he has been part of our family for two months already. At times it feels like he has been here forever, and other times it feels like we just brought him home from the hospital yesterday. He is becoming more and more of a little person rather than an infant. He smiles a lot, and just recently started to laugh and giggle.

We took him to the doctor for his two month appointment and the scale did not disappoint! He was 13 pounds, 6 ounces and 24 1/4 inches (97th percentile). He is quite a healthy little boy! We sure are enjoying him! The wards go all out..they decorate each room with snowflakes, Christmas lights, holly, etc. It is really neat to check out all of the different kinds of nativity displays there are. They also have a nativity scene where you can be in it! I bet you are wondering...that is not the real baby Jesus. Its just Max!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_JAuVuP68F4A/SS9fH0mtM5I/AAAAAAAAANg/Qt037W778I8/s320/thanksgiving+2008+002.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5273538276658852754" />
This year for Thanksgiving, we were alone. Sad isn't it? Since we have been in El Paso, this is the first year we haven't had either Adam's parents or my parents visiting. We still had fun though.

We are thankful for so many things. Thanksgiving is a good reminder for our family to focus on being grateful for our many blessings not only today, but throughout the whole year. Some of the things that Campbell is thankful for are: her food, her family, having friends over to play, and puzzles (Puzzles are super important!).

In her preschool class, they had "Thanksgiving Week" where they talked about the first Thanksgiving and what Thanksgiving is all about. I can't believe Max has been here for almost 4 weeks--the time has gone by way too fast. Between running Campbell to school, changing diapers, playing Candyland and breastfeeding all the time, its no wonder I haven't blogged for a while! I am constantly running around.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_JAuVuP68F4A/SSnqA4HG2JI/AAAAAAAAANI/_hyNY8FEWWQ/s320/halloween2008+019.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5272002139596970130" />
Max is getting so big. He went to the doctor last Thursday and he was 10 pounds! He's huge! Today his umbilical cord finally fell off. That was quite the drama. The doctor had to burn it off. Campbell had a really busy day. She went to school in her costume and did some trick-or-treating to the offices and classrooms. We had a ward trunk-or-treat and a little carnival that evening. Adam and Grandma King took her trick-or-treating in our neighborhood after the ward activity. She had so much fun. She loved it when kids came to our door and she got to hand out candy. She sat on a chair next to the door with the candy bowl on her lap waiting for the doorbell to ring. It was pretty cute. Max and I stayed home of course. Halloween is not very exciting when you are only 3 days old!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_JAuVuP68F4A/SQ-4wX5ze3I/AAAAAAAAAK8/zF4Y78AzmKI/s320/halloween2008+012.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5264629630609095538" />
Campbell and Adam's jack-o-lanterns(Adam ended up doing both).
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_JAuVuP68F4A/SQ-4foVMGnI/AAAAAAAAAK0/nYMdPM_GEmo/s320/halloween2008+010.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5264629342961146482" />
Campbell posing with Max.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_JAuVuP68F4A/SQ-4XqOaNDI/AAAAAAAAAKs/v-d4SSvxHqc/s320/halloween2008+008.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5264629206030627890" />
Our little pumpkin.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_JAuVuP68F4A/SQ-39zGU3eI/AAAAAAAAAKk/He4rxrQ6Hbg/s320/1000362.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5264628761736044002" />
Campbell was tinkerbell. When it started to get dark, I reminded Adam that our trash needed to be taken out to the curb. He came back in the color drained from his face. "I almost got bit by a rattlesnake!" He went on to explain that as he stepped on the rocks by the side of the house, he heard the snake rattle, looked down and in the little light that was left, saw the rattlesnake about two feet from where he was standing. Adam was pretty flustered as he looked for a flashlight and the number for animal control. He stayed outside until animal control showed up and kept the snake at bay so that he wouldn't go in our backyard. His mom is here from Utah to help with the baby and got to witness first hand the panic and excitement of living in the desert. This happens to be the second rattlesnake we have had in our yard in the three years we have lived here.

Three King's became FOUR!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_JAuVuP68F4A/SQp5RxMp_ZI/AAAAAAAAAKE/hAOnVAKO_9E/s320/Max+014.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5263152460707003794" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_JAuVuP68F4A/SQp5KmS3yNI/AAAAAAAAAJ8/DA1hNrwhexs/s320/Max+008.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5263152337521199314" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_JAuVuP68F4A/SQp40w3uQ9I/AAAAAAAAAJ0/23GwGgredtI/s320/Max+003.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5263151962402997202" />
Our baby boy is here! Max Robert King was born on October 28, 2008 at 5:14 p.m., weighing in at a ghastly 8 pounds, 13 ounces, and was 20 1/2 inches long. Many of you may be wondering where the name Max came from. To tell you the truth, we don't even know! We went to the hospital with two names picked out, trying to decide between Cannon and Jackson, and we came home with Max. Chalk one up for inspiration, we think. He has ten fingers, ten toes and two testicles so he is everything you'd expect from a little boy (This is Adam's contribution, if you can't tell).
Campbell has been so excited about having Max as a little brother. She kept calling herself "big sister."Grandma King and Campbell were playing a game with a balloon, and she kept telling Grandma to hit it to "big sister." She has been such a little helper-feeding him, talking to him and bathing him. She loves to be involved in taking care of Max.

Happy 30th Birthday Adam!!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 310px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_JAuVuP68F4A/SQH1eJ-Pi_I/AAAAAAAAAJo/9Hp1_i0Q1To/s320/scan.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5260755738167315442" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 229px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_JAuVuP68F4A/SQH1XEMBp7I/AAAAAAAAAJg/FZthlIpQCe0/s320/scan0001.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5260755616355428274" />
Thirty years ago today, an amazing thing happened... Adam was born!!! He has accomplished many things in thirty years:
~Married me-the smartest decision ever!
~Has almost two kids, Campbell and a baby boy coming in a few days.
~In 10 weeks, he will have his BS in Business Management.
~Served a full time mission in the Arizona Tucson Mission (18 months of that right here in El Paso)
~Has become the youngest District Manager in his company, and has been with this company since he was sixteen (with the exception of the two years on a mission).
~Has developed a love for the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.
~A huge sports fan- as the seasons change, the channel on the TV doesn't. Adam watches and loves to play it all.
~Has a PRO status on all the sports on Wii sports. (this is very important!)
~An awesome Dad. Campbell always wants to be with him or call him on the phone. Even when he is busy at work, he takes time to talk to her and hear about her day.
~Adam is fluent in Spanish. He can write, talk, think, swear-all in Spanish!

We love you Adam! We hope your birthday is a special one! Oh, Campbell says she told everyone at school today that it was your birthday! Lucky you!
Amy and Campbell

BYU MaDnEsS!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_JAuVuP68F4A/SPi42WyDACI/AAAAAAAAAI4/QpjINodzg-w/s320/Hall_Sacked_at_TCU.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5258155808922992674" />
Okay, for those who don't know Adam, he is a huge BYU fan, and that is an understatement. Last night, BYU played TCU and since we live in Texas, we actually got to watch it on TV. I think we only get like three BYU games this year on cable.

Campbell hasn't watched a BYU football game for a few years, and I think she forgot how irrational and scary Daddy can be when they are playing. Between the yelling and cursing (not horrible cursing, just the "you idiots", "call pass interference", "throw the freakin flag", "I hate you refs"...things a four year old shouldn't hear or repeat) Campbell would run from the room holding her ears searching for a sanctuary. Things would calm down, like during a commercial and Campbell would come back just to be chased away once again by the boisterous yells coming from Adam.

When we were first married and living in Las Vegas, I made the mistake of turning off the television when BYU was getting spanked. I think that is the only time in seven years Adam has ever been mad at me. He ended up locking me out of the room so that he could finish watching the game by himself. My dad would turn the channel or turn off the TV if his team was losing really bad, and so I did just that, and I guess die hard fans watch their team (and scream at the TV) come rain or shine.

She's way too young for you....

Adam and Campbell went to pick up a pizza. Every week they focus on a new subject and this week its "The Gingerbread Man." She came home from school today and was really upset. "Mom! We went to the bakery (cafeteria) today to get our gingerbread man that the cook baked, and he was gone! We looked and looked for him everywhere and we couldn't find him!" She continued to say that the lunch lady said he jumped out of the oven and ran away. She had planned on eating the part of him that had sprinkles and now he is gone. The class is going to continue looking for him the rest of the week...we'll see where this tricky guy ends up!

Campbell's class found the Gingerbread Man on Friday. He was so sneaky! They looked all week for him, in the office, classrooms, and finally they found him in the library. Campbell said, "We wasn't reading books or anything, he was just sitting there!" They got to eat him too! Campbell got to eat a part with sprinkles, so she was pretty happy! I guess Gingerbread Men aren't as fast as they think!

Campbell's Famous!!

Aren't these pictures awesome!?! It rained for about 12 hours and as you can see, the desert is not made to absorb that much water. Our backyard filled up pretty fast. We had several inches of standing water that had to go somewhere. Adam made a trench on the side of our house to relieve the flood in our backyard. Campbell had a fun time playing in the rain and we had to change her clothes three times because she kept going out to help Daddy with the trench. Even though it is a challenge when it does rain here in El Paso, we've come to appreciate it because it doesn't happen very often.

Lost!!!!

We had a ward party Saturday at a park. Adam was busy playing baseball, I was busy chatting, and where was Campbell? We had no idea for about 20 minutes. Campbell and one of her friends decided to go out into the desert by the park for a little hike. It was getting dark, and someone from the ward panicked and called the police. Adam found them halfway up a hill before the police came. We asked Campbell what she was doing. She said she was climbing the hill so she could see the whole city. She made the comment to Adam, "The people at the park look like little ants!" The girls were in flip flops and hiking up a hill covered in cactus. Adam never gets mad at her, and this was the only time I have seen him lecture her about her doing something wrong. Campbell had to apologize to the police officer for coming out. I don't think she will be going on any unsupervised hikes again.

Weather Prediction or Ultrasound?

We had another ultrasound last week, and we got a weather prediction rather than a confirmation of what we are having.... 80% chance that it is a boy. Campbell kept telling us that she was a "cousin" and that she was going home with Mike and Amy to be a part of their family so that she would have someone to play with all the time. It is hard to believe that there could be another boy to carry on the King name since boys are hard to come by in our family. We had an ultrasound yesterday to check on a blood clot that I had (which is gone, thank goodness!) and got to see our baby. The baby was a crazy one! It looked like it was dancing the whole time. It also kept opening and closing its mouth. The technician said that it looks like a boy, but being only 14 weeks, it is hard to tell. From the picture, it sure looks like something is there, but I guess we will wait until next month to make any plans. We are so excited that our baby is healthy and that the blood clot is gone!!

Sea World

This was Campbell's favorite part of Sea World. She got to feed the dolphins and pet them. She would dangle the fish above the water and a dolphin would swim up and take the fish, then you could pet them. A funny thing that happened while Grandpa was feeding the dolphins...he was only supposed to hold the fish for three seconds if the dolphin was there. He waited a little longer than three seconds so that Campbell could see the dolphin better and the trainer comes running over from the other side of the pool and starts freaking out. "Don't tease the dolphins, don't tease the dolphins!" Grandpa is always getting us into trouble!! We love you Grandpa!

At the Sea World in San Antonio, they have rides that kids and adults enjoy. Campbell usually is apprehensive about riding rides or trying anything new, but this was not the case while we were at Sea World. She rode every ride that she could go on and had a really fun time. After riding"Journey to Atlantis" she told us that it was fun but she did not want to try it again. Adam and I felt bad that we couldn't look around longer than we did because Grandpa was really interested and there was a lot of neat things to read and look at, but Campbell kept telling us over and over again that the Alamo was making her "boring."

Coyote Huntin'

Adam has been wanting to go hunting forever so Campbell and I got roped into going coyote hunting one morning. We woke up early and got some doughnuts to go (that would be the chocolate mess all over Campbell's face). It was a little cold, so we bundled Campbell up for the occasion, put her in Adam's camo shirt and put on the trusty sound mufflers just in case there was any shooting. We sat for a while and Campbell was getting bored and a little rowdy as Adam was calling in a coyote. The coyote took one look at Campbell moving around and bolted. Our hunting trip was unsuccessful, but Campbell was lookin' stylish and the doughnuts were delicious!

Cute prayer!!

Campbell was saying the dinner prayer the other night when Grandma and Grandpa King, Mike and Amy and their kids were here visiting. I can't believe it has been four years since she joined our family. It seems like she has been here forever!! We had a birthday party with a bunch of friends from the ward. We rented a jump-jump and it was so much fun!! I even got inside and had fun myself! She got a kite from one of her friends and she asked Adam and I if there was a "slice of wind" so that she could fly her kite. I think she meant "slight wind" but it was just too funny to correct her.
